John Fullbright discovered his taste for adventure at the age of fourteen with the river-running Explorer Post 20 in Los Alamos, New Mexico. Herb Kincey, the former head of Santa Fe Search & Rescue saw John rock climbing one day and over the course of the next few years taught John all of the search & rescue knots & rope techniques.
John wrote his own major at Humbolt State University as Recreation Administrator for special groups with an emphasis on Adventure Travel. While in college, he was a professional river & mountain guide. In 1989 was invited on his first international expedition to Russia with Project R.A.F.T (Russians & Americans For Teamwork).
Beginning in 1990 he worked for Al Bergess guiding treks in the Himalayas, and accomplished his first solo first descent of Tsarap and Ling Ti Chu rivers in India. This led to expeditions in Nepal and a first descent of Tamba Cosi. Over the next decade he traveled to Africa, India, Chile, Canada, and Alaska.
Since 1992 he has made his living as a professional photographer, mountain guide, and kayak instructor. He has also worked as a consultant for a number of quality brands like Polarmax, MSR, Hardigg, NRS, and Chaco Sandals, as a designer and product tester.
HE guides private expeditions worldwide, tests and designs products, and shoots photography for his living currently.
